The hotly anticipated return of Yeezys is finally here!

    Image: Yeezy Mafia

After Ye and Adidas parted ways at the end of last year, a large question mark was put over the future of Yeezy. The first collaborative project with a brand and a talent to legitimately rival Air Jordan, Yeezy has had the sneaker game in a chokehold over the last decade. And with its future potentially up in the air, Adidas has taken a large hit.

    What you need to know

However, we have finally got word that Adidas and Ye have agreed on terms with which to sell the remaining $1 billion of Yeezy stock Adidas has been sitting on. In an attempt to minimize losses, especially after a period of struggle which has also seen Adidas mutually agree to part ways with Beyonce earlier this year. The terms of the deal under which the Yeezys will return is a 15% commission going to Ye West, whilst part of the proceeds will be donated to charities fighting racism and anti-semitism, to address how the deal originally broke down back in October of last year.

    Image: Sneaker News

In terms of pairs releasing once again before this summer, it’s been confirmed we will be getting quite the range. From the extremely popular Yeezy Boost 350 Pirate Black that was first released in 2015. To the Yeezy Foam RNNR and Yeezy Slide which headlined last year’s wave of slip-on sneakers. As well as this, we are anticipating the return of the often-re-stocked Yeezy Boost 350 V2 Zebra, as well as the Yeezy 500 Utility Black. Otherwise, the Yeezy Boost 380, the Yeezy 450, and Yeezy 700 will all feature, as well as some other colorways of popular models like the Yeezy 350 V2.

The future is still murky for Adidas and Ye’s partnership. Whilst they have agreed to come together to sell their current stock, whether any more Yeezys will make it to production is yet to be seen. At the start of the year, it was rumored Yeezys would continue to be released, as Adidas held the rights to the models, just without the Yeezy branding. This sparked a debate over whether the same products would be able to capture the same hype without West’s participation. But for now, the products on sale will still feature Yeezy branding, hence the need for getting West onboard with their sale.

    When will they be available?

The Yeezy sneakers will finally return on the 31st of May, they are now available to buy and sell on WOOVIN. Check out our stock of Yeezys available on our platform now!

  • Teyana Taylor’s latest sneaker will soon be with us

Teyana Taylor’s latest sneaker will soon be with us

    Image: Sneaker Bar Detroit

Musician, actress and dancer Teyana Taylor has announced she has a new sneaker releasing, and it’s picking up a lot of buzz. Ten years after her first sneaker, Teyana Taylor’s name still attracts a buzz in the space. Since the Jordan 1 High Zoom Air CMFT 2 Teyana Taylor A Rose From Harlem (W) releases soon, we are bursting to find out more about its release.

    The sneaker

The sneaker will come in a white leather base upper with red leather detailing on the panels. The laces are orange-yellow, and the heel tab comes in a darker reddish-brown hue. The most important parts of the sneakers, however, are the swooshes. Sporting mismatched swooshes, the left pair features an oversized swoosh with exposed stitching, very reminiscent of the swooshes we saw on the Jordan 1 Retro High Off-White Chicago. The right pair, however, features a red embroidered swoosh and green thorns coming off of it. Referencing the sneaker colorway “A ROSE from Harlem” name. Potentially the most interesting detail of the sneaker is perhaps the least visible, featuring Formula 23 foam in the midsole rather than the sneaker’s traditional rubber sole. In doing so, this offers a more comfortable sole to a 38-year-old sneaker.

    Image: Sneaker Bar Detroit

    Some context

Like many collaborators these days, Taylor’s most famous for her musical exploits, originally bursting on the scene thanks to her appearance on MTV, signing to The Neptunes record label, and working on the choreography for Beyonce’s “Ring the Alarm” music video. Since then, she has had a highly successful R&B career under Kanye West’s G.O.O.D music label, capping it off in 2020 with her album, “The Album.” In terms of acting: she had a main role in Coming 2 America, and will soon feature in the new White Men Can’t Jump remake. But we are particularly interested right now in Taylor’s return to the sneaker game.

We say return because this is not the first time she’s got involved in making her sneaker. Back in 2013, she made her first pair of sneakers with Adidas – designing the Adidas Originals Harlem GLC, which sold out extremely quickly.

Then in 2017, she took her talents to the (at the time) Adidas-owned Reebok, where she became an official Reebok brand ambassador, taking part in releasing her pairs of Reebok Freestyles and her own Reebok Question Mid.

However, back in 2020, Jordan Brand went public with their partnership with Teyana Taylor when they had her feature in their campaign for their Flight Utility collection. And only three years later, Taylor finally received the honor of creating her own Air Jordan 1. A huge moment, especially for such a big sneakerhead.

  • Salehe Bembury and Crocs have teamed up again in time for the summer

Salehe Bembury and Crocs have teamed up again in time for the summer

    Image: Sneaker News

After their successful first collaboration together, Salehe Bembury and Crocs have teamed up once more to create a brand-new product. Perfect for summer, their brightly colored slides will be ideal for lounging around or trips to the beach.

    What are they?

The slides will come in the same one-piece foam construction as Bembury’s Pollex clogs, as well as also featuring the same fingerprint mold – a running theme throughout his work, which has come to be somewhat of a logo or signature detail for the designer. The model will debut in a “citrus milk” colorway, which looks to be a pastel-colored shade of Orange. However, we imagine we will see the slides in a number of colorways over the coming years. Especially since last month, Bembury agreed to extend his deal with Crocs another two years as their “Pollex Creative Director.”

    Image: Sneaker News

    Some background

This comes after the highly successful Crocs Pollex Clog by Salehe Bembury, which was originally released in 2021 but then continued to release in several bright colorways throughout the last few years. During this time, Bembury has also worked with a number of other brands, namely New Balance. His long-standing collaborations have cemented his place in the sneaker game and the star power his name can bring. As well as juggling his own brand, the “BEASPUNGE” brand, and his creative director duties for the Uninterrupted clothing line. Bembury has had a busy couple of years.

But Crocs as a whole has seen a massive boost in recent years. From collaborations with Justin Bieber and Post Malone to celebrities like LeBron James donning the footwear. They have returned to popularity, particularly with the younger generation. And Crocs have made every attempt to capitalize on this, announcing in 2021 that they are aiming for $5 billion in yearly sales by 2026. The continued partnership with Salehe Bembury seems to be a continuation of their keenness to remain in the public eye as part of popular culture.

Choosing to pivot to a slide for their next partnership is only natural for Crocs, since they are known for their easy, loose-fitting footwear. Focused primarily on comfort, no one goes to Crocs for high-performance running sneakers. It’s the go-to for a comfy pair of shoes to slip on to complete everyday tasks. Therefore, after Salehe Bembury created an updated take on the clog, it makes sense to pivot to using the same technology on Croc’s other main product, their slides.

    Image: Sneaker News

    When will they release?

The Crocs Pollex Slide by Salehe Bembury will release its first “Citrus Milk” colorway on May 25th. After which it will become available to buy and sell here at WOOVIN. Until then, check our site for Bembury’s past releases, including a selection of the Crocs Pollex Clog by Salehe Bembury.

  • Sneaker Spotlight: The Jordan 4 Retro Thunder

Sneaker Spotlight: The Jordan 4 Retro Thunder

    Image: DTLR

The latest sneaker to hit our site, the Jordan 4 Retro Thunder hits us with a bolt of nostalgia, thanks to its striking design. Originally released in 2006, the model brings us back to a time when Air Jordans were much less accessible than they are today. A time when hunting for sneakers involved huge queues around the block. But this pair in particular was exclusive to jumpman23.com. Whilst our methods of procuring sneakers have since changed, the Jordan 4 is still a timeless model we all want to get our hands on.

    Image: DTLR

    The Sneaker

Releasing this time in a “Thunder” colorway, this Jordan 4 comes in a black nubuck upper, with yellow detailing under the netting and on the crown eyelets. The tongue lining also comes in yellow, featuring an upside-down Air Jordan tag, as is tradition, whilst the rest of the lining is black. And the Jumpman logo on the heel and tongue tag comes in white. The upper is paired with a yellow midsole and black outsole, with another white Jumpman logo on the bottom of the sneaker. The pair comes in a splatter print box with the word “Flight” across the top of the box. Like most Jordan 4s, the sneakers fit true to size. However, if you have a wider foot, you might want to go up half a size just for comfort.

    Image: DTLR

    The Context

As previously mentioned, the sneakers were first released back in 2006, alongside the Jordan 4 Retro Lightning, as part of a weather-themed “Thunder & Lightning” pack. Contrasting with the Thunder pair, the Lightning 4s switched the colors round so that the upper was primarily dressed in yellow. They then retired again in 2012 and, after the lightning pair re-released in 2021, we knew it wouldn’t be long until the Thunder was back on shelves. Especially after the success last year of the Jordan 4 Retro Red Thunder. A take on the original Thunder model, featuring the same color blocking but swapping out the yellow detailing for a bright red color. They are also available on our site.

    Image: DTLR

Whilst not a traditional color for an Air Jordan to come in, the bright yellow acts as a sign of the times. Taking us back to the 2000s, when the Jordan brand started to become more creative with their colorways and stray further away from the more popular team colors that Jordans were traditionally dressed in. Another example is the Jordan 6 Retro DMP, which was first released in the same year and added gold detailing to the Jordan 6. Although yellow isn’t the easiest color to style, the yellow accents are perfect for the summer. Especially paired with the Jordan 4s breathable upper, thanks to its mesh details on the tongue and midfoot of the sneaker.

    Image: DTLR

    Where to get them?

The Jordan 4 Retro Thunder was released worldwide on May 13th, meaning they are therefore now available on our WOOVIN site. Available to buy and sell in full family sizing, pick up your pair of these classic sneakers today.

  • Nike could be bringing the Mac Attack with two huge collaborations

Nike could be bringing the Mac Attack with two huge collaborations

    Image: Sneaker Freaker

A cult classic that will hit sneakerheads of a certain age with a wave of nostalgia, the Nike Mac Attack looks to be back in town soon. Originally released in 1984, and soon to celebrate its 40th anniversary, this is the first time the model will get a retro release. But, as Nike gets ready to bring back the silhouette, it’s bringing some hype to the model with two major collaborations. The details of which are still very up in the air, but it’s already got us talking. Here’s everything we know so far.

    Image: Complex

The Nike Mac Attack Social Status

Firstly, in March, we got word of the Nike Mac Attack releasing in collaboration with Social Status. Shown off by NBA star P.J. Tucker, three colorways of the collaboration are expected to release in vintage sail and white uppers. The colorways are differentiated by different pops of color on the swoosh, collar, heel and outsole. One pair will come with blue accents, another in black, and the third pair in green. Each colored part of the sneakers, however, features tear-away uppers, revealing a separate colour underneath the original styling. For example, the green pair can be worn down to reveal orange detailing underneath. This creates plenty of opportunities to customize the sneakers to your own taste, or some encouragement to rock your kicks.

    Image: Complex

The Nike Mac Attack Travis Scott

However, that’s not all Nike has in store as, recently, Travis Scott was spotted wearing his own pair of Nike Mac Attacks. This comes after he was seen in a pair of Mac Attacks in 2021, establishing his appreciation for the sneaker. Not only would the star wearing the sneaker again instantly attract our attention but its reverse swoosh across the side of the silhouette marked it out as a Travis Scott original. Taking the classic grey and black colorway – which will get its own separate release – and changing the traditionally yellow checkered Nike tag on the tongue for a checkered one that reuses the black and grey color scheme of the sneaker.

    Image: Sneaker Bar Detroit

    When will they release?

The Nike Mac Attack Social Status was originally expected to release this May but, with no further updates, expect the sneakers to drop sometime at the start of summer. As for the Travis Scott pair, we have no word that the sneakers will get a public release, with it potentially being exclusive, since it features few stylistic changes other than the reversed swoosh. But we shouldn’t give up hope completely, if it follows the pattern of his previous releases, we should get a Travis Scott Mac Attack in hands by the end of the year. Once either sneaker releases, stay tuned to WOOVIN , where they will be available to buy and sell for the best prices

  • Spiderman is getting another take on the Jordan 1 this summer

Spiderman is getting another take on the Jordan 1 this summer

    Image: Sneaker News

Once again, with the return of Miles Morales’ Spider-man, Jordan has unveiled a brand-new sneaker to release alongside the film. This comes after the success of a similar tactic for “Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse.” Where the specially made Jordan 1s were a massive hit with fans of sneakers and the Marvel Universe alike.

    The sneakers

This new sneaker is reminiscent of the Jordan 1 Chicago since that’s what Miles wore in the first film. We are yet to see quite how the sneakers appear in the sequel. However, their brief inclusion in its trailer suggests that they will be present once again. However, rather than just releasing the Air Jordan 1 Chicago as it is, the red panels are made up of sewed-together pieces of red leather and suede, with different red patterns. For example, a red half-tone design is used around the collar. In doing so, the sneaker has an almost fragmented look, reminiscent of the comic art style from the movies. But also, representing the convergence of different “spiderverses” within the film. Otherwise, the black detailing seems to come in patent leather. Not only adding another material into the fray, but also adding some shine to the sneaker. Jordan’s infamous wings logo is present in a bold red on the ankle, with a subtle 3D effect.

    Image: Sneaker News

    The back story

In Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, we were introduced to Miles Morales, a teenage boy from Brooklyn, New York. He, too, gets his powers from being bitten by a spider and becomes another Spidermen in the Marvel Universe. The film paid particular attention to showcasing the interests a young boy from New York might have to make the character realistic and relatable. One of the ways they did that was through the film’s hip-hop heavy soundtrack. But, also, through Miles Morales’ kicks. Throughout the film, he is seen rocking a pair of unlaced Jordan 1 Retro Chicago’s – a detail that went down particularly well with the sneakerheads among Marvel’s huge audience.

    Image: Sneaker News

Hence the excitement when a Jordan 1 Retro High Spider-Man Origin Story was released to accompany the film’s debut. We have seen all kinds of superhero and comic-inspired sneakers in the past. But never on the Jordan 1, a sneaker that doesn’t need collaboration to sell out its stock. So, when Marvel teamed up with the Jordan 1 Retro, it created pandemonium.

Five years later, we are once again anticipating a Jordan 1 Retro to release alongside “Spiderman: Across the Spider verse.” Since images of the sneaker surfaced in late 2022, it’s been tipped as a potential sneaker of the year candidate. Now there’s nothing left to do other than count down the days.

The Jordan 1 High OG Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse will finally release on the 20th of May. Shortly afterwards, it will become available to buy and sell here at WOOVIN.

  • Union is offering a new take on the Air Jordan 1 with a new collaborator

Union is offering a new take on the Air Jordan 1 with a new collaborator

    Image: Sole Retriever

Union LA is back, continuing their long-running collaboration with Nike, returning to give the Air Jordan 1 a new look. However, rather than continuing down the same path the first Air Jordan 1s followed, the model has a new twist. Surfacing online recently, the pair has also been revealed to be a collaboration with another brand, Bephies Beauty Supply.

    What you need to know

The first Jordan 1 Retro High Union Los Angeles collection was released back in 2018 to much acclaim. Released at a point where the Air Jordan 1s were the most sought-after sneakers, the sneakers ended up fetching prices well over €1,000, as well as making it onto many people’s sneaker of the year lists. The sneakers featured typical Jordan 1 color blocking, although with added stitching around the collar, above which the colorways change, along with the laces which also change mid-lace to a brand-new color scheme.

Not ditching the original design completely, Union’s latest Jordan 1 still seems to feature added stitching around the collar. This time with a blue thread. However, the entire silhouette rocks the same colors. The sneaker is dressed in a white and light grey leather upper. And yellow detailing is present on the exposed edges of the leather frame. Darker grey detailing is present on the swoosh and on the collar, and the laces are dark yellow. Whether the sneakers will release with another two lace options like Jordan 1s typically do is yet to be seen. The upper is then paired with a sail sole for an aged look, which matches the upper’s sail tongue. Up to this point, the model’s colorway resembles the Jordan 1 Retro AJKO Low SP Union.

    Image: Sole Retriever

The defining detail of the model however is the woven pattern which runs down the length of the sneaker. In doing so, splitting the top half of the upper from the rest of the sneaker. Whilst we have seen entire woven sneakers from Nike in the past, never have we seen a woven pattern incorporated into a sneaker like this.

So, we know about Union and their history, especially regarding their sneakers, but who is Bephies Beauty Supply? They’re a streetwear brand based in LA, also running an online store focussed on promoting women of color within fashion. The brand made headlines last year after collaborating with Jordan Brand to re-imagine the Air Jordan 7. But their collaboration with Union for their latest Jordan seems to be a family affair, as Bephies Beauty Supply founder Beth Birkett owns Union LA with her husband Chris Gibbs, who operates the store.

    Image: Sole Retriever

    When will the sneakers release?

Still some distance away, you can expect the Jordan 1 Retro High Union Los Angeles x Bephies Beauty Supply to release sometime during summer, likely in August. Whilst we’ve only got eyes on the one colorway for now, it is undisclosed whether there’s more to come. Upon release, the sneakers will become available to buy and sell here at WOOVIN. And, until then, find previous Union releases on our site now.
